Terms of Use

1. What This Site Is

rpg.actor is a decentralized character sheet registry built on the AT Protocol. Your character sheets, sprites, and game statistics are stored on AT Protocol personal data servers (PDS)—either your own or one hosted by us through our Creator Account service.

If you use an external PDS (such as Bluesky's), your data lives there and we simply read and display it. If you purchase a Creator Account, we host a PDS on your behalf and store your character data on our servers. In either case, you retain ownership of your content.

2. Using This Site

By using rpg.actor, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this site. By creating an account or purchasing a Creator Account, you confirm that you are 13 years of age or older. We may modify these terms at any time; continued use means you accept any changes.

We reserve the right to block any user or content from being displayed on this site, for any reason.

3. Your Content, Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for everything you upload.

By publishing content that displays on this site, you represent that:

• You own the content, or have proper licenses/permissions to use it
• Your content doesn't infringe anyone's intellectual property rights
• Your content isn't illegal, harmful, or objectionable

We don't review, verify, or endorse user content. If your content causes legal problems, that's on you—not us. You agree to indemnify rpg.actor and its operators against any claims arising from your content.

4. Game System Trademarks

rpg.actor is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher or game system creator. Game system names appear on this site solely for the purpose of interoperability—describing what systems your characters can use.

RPG Maker

RPG Maker™ is a trademark of Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc. We provide third-party integration plugins and a compatible stat format for RPG Maker MZ games. The sprites provided by our generator are original artwork created for this project and are not derived from, or licensed under, any RPG Maker asset pack.

If you upload your own sprites—including assets from RPG Maker products—you are solely responsible for ensuring you hold the proper licences:

• You must own a valid licence for the RPG Maker product whose assets you use
• Per the RPG Maker EULA, bundled assets may only be used within games made with that product
• rpg.actor cannot grant you any rights to RPG Maker content and accepts no liability for user-uploaded material that infringes third-party licences

D&D™ is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Our D&D stat system uses game mechanics from the System Reference Document (SRD 5.1), published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC-BY-4.0) licence. Fan content on this site complies with WotC's Fan Content Policy.

Dungeon Crawl Classics

Dungeon Crawl Classics™ (DCC) is a trademark of Goodman Games. Our DCC stat system uses game mechanics published as Open Game Content under the Open Game License v1.0a. The class names, ability score names, and mechanical terms used on this site (Warrior, Wizard, Cleric, Thief, Mighty Deeds, Spellburn, etc.) are Open Game Content and are reproduced here under the terms of that licence. No Product Identity of Goodman Games is used. See our Licenses page for the full OGL Section 15 notice.

Playtopia Quest

Playtopia Quest is an original social RPG system created in collaboration with the Playtopia Foundation, a South African non-profit that promotes opportunities in game development. The system, its class archetypes, and stat definitions are original to this project.

Other Systems

All other game system names referenced on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. We use them for compatibility and interoperability purposes only, and claim no ownership or affiliation.

5. Game Master Records

GMs can create validation records for players. These are stored on the GM's own repository and represent their claims about a player's stats. We don't verify these claims and aren't responsible for disputes between GMs and players.

6. Payments & Refunds

Creator Account purchases are one-time payments processed via Stripe. All prices are in US dollars (USD).

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that no refund will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with the service, failure to use the account, or changes to site features.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at noreply@rpg.actor and we will investigate.

7. Copyright Issues

If you believe content displayed here infringes your copyright, contact us at noreply@rpg.actor.

Be aware: since content is stored on users' personal data servers, we can only stop displaying it on our site. We cannot delete content from someone else's repository.

8. No Warranties

This site is provided "as is." We make no guarantees about availability, accuracy, or reliability. The site may break, change, or disappear. Use it at your own risk.

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site. This is a hobby project, not a commercial service.
